Description

The Sunflower Fields community garden provides residents with their own garden plot to grow their own food and flowers. This provides local food security, enhances individual health and ensures a supply of fresh, sustainable food to the community residents.

This is not only a way for residents to stay healthy, it also enriches the community life in Sunflower Fields.

This is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals or groups looking to make an impact in their local community!

 Volunteers are needed to:

  • Assist with garden chores like tilling soil, planting, weeding, turning compost, and watering
  • Build and maintain small structures and fencing within the garden area
  • Organize tool and garden shed
  • Help clean garden plots and transform them into more attractive spaces
  • Tidy up mulched spaces between garden beds
  • Transfer plants and spread seeds in the meadow area
  • Plant trees and shrubs in the food forest area
  • Maintain garden plots of food
